Privacy Policy

1. What data we collect

To operate Jejerino, we collect:

• Your email address and birthdate (used to verify the minimum age).
• The content you upload to the platform (memes, comments, reactions).
• Anonymous usage statistics, with no personal data, which you can turn off (see the “Anonymous usage statistics” section).
• When you give your consent to these Terms and this Policy, we store a hash (a cryptographic fingerprint, not the original value) of your IP address and your user-agent. We do not store your IP address or user-agent in plain text — only the hash, as proof that consent was given.

2. How we use it

We use your data only to:

• Verify that you meet the minimum age to use the platform.
• Prevent abuse, spam and prohibited content.
• Comply with legal obligations (for example, in response to a valid request from a competent authority).
• Improve the product (for example, understand which features are used most).

We do not show ads or use third-party trackers. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.

3. Data retention

Your content and account data are kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, see the “Data deletion” section below.

Consent records (which store when you accepted these documents and which version you accepted) are kept permanently and immutably for legal compliance reasons, even after you delete your account. These records are protected against deletion at the database level.

4. Data deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, using the “Delete my account” option. When you do:

• All your active sessions are closed (revoked).
• Your user profile is anonymized: your identifiable data is deleted or unlinked.
• Your content is deleted or anonymized, as applicable.
• The consent records associated with your account are kept, but in anonymized form, due to the legal obligation described in the previous section.

5. Data export

You can download a copy of your personal data from your account at any time, before deciding whether or not to delete it.

6. Cookies and local storage

Jejerino uses your browser’s local storage to keep you logged in (authentication tokens) and to remember whether you turned off anonymous statistics on that device. We do not use cookies or local storage for advertising or to track you across websites. There is no third-party analytics and there are no advertising trackers on the platform: the only statistics are our own anonymous ones, described in the next section.

7. Anonymous usage statistics

To understand which features are used and to improve Jejerino, we anonymously count how many times pages are visited and certain actions are taken (for example, creating, sharing or commenting on a meme). This applies to both the Jejerino website and the Jejerino app.

• They are anonymous: they do not include your username, email, account or device identifier, or any text you write. Parameters are stripped from page addresses, and addresses that identify a person or a private space are recorded generically.
• When it receives each statistic, Umami infers an approximate location (country, region and city) and the type of browser, operating system and device from the connection. The IP address is not stored, and that location is not precise and is not linked to your account.
• They do not use cookies or advertising identifiers and do not follow you across websites.
• We process them with an open-source tool (Umami) installed on our own servers. This data is not shared with third parties, is not used for advertising and is not part of your account.

You can turn them off at any time with the “Send anonymous statistics” toggle. On the website, it’s right below, no account needed, and also in Settings if you’re logged in; in the app, it’s in Settings. The preference is saved only on that device or browser and, while it’s turned off, nothing is sent.

8. Minors

Jejerino has a minimum age of use (see our Terms of Service). We do not collect separate parental consent; verification is limited to the birthdate provided at sign-up.

9. Legal entity and jurisdiction
